principals
By Ann

Clip to ScrapBook
The job is hard. They shouldn't take it if they are not going to do everything in their power to do it right. I'm sure there are a lot of good principals out there, but my experience is with ones who want to keep parents
happy. That is a recipe for disaster for children. If we keep in mind that every child deserves a quality education, then we are forced to structure our jobs around children, not parents. Many, many times parents are placated just to stop their unjustified, unexamined complaints. When a principal gives in and does what is the easiest thing to do at the moment, precedents are set. It becomes
easier and easier to simply do what is easiest, but the problems get bigger and bigger. It is very difficult to have standards where real standards don't exist.
