principals By Ann

The job is hard. They shouldn't take it if they are not going to do everything in their power to do it right. I'm sure there are a lot of good principals out there, but my experience is with ones who want to keep parents| happy. That is a recipe for disaster for children. If we keep in mind that every child deserves a quality education, then we are forced to structure our jobs around children, not parents. Many, many times parents are placated just to stop their unjustified, unexamined complaints. When a principal gives in and does what is the easiest thing to do at the moment, precedents are set. It becomes |
| easier and easier to simply do what is easiest, but the problems get bigger and bigger. It is very difficult to have standards where real standards don't exist.
