two ideas

Clip to ScrapBook
One thing I've had my kids make every year is a photo magnet. I take a picture of each child. The kids cut the photo to fit one of those magnets that's meant to back a business card. (Office Max and other business supply
stores sell them. They are maybe 3 or 4 for a dollar.) The kids make their own card and wrapping paper. Nothing really screams "DAD" but the parents love getting them and can use them on their fridge or on a file cabinet at work.

Another idea is to have the kids make and decorate a picture frame for their own artwork. Give each child a piece of oaktag or cardstock cut in the shape

of a frame about 9 X 12 outside measurement. Inside measurement should be about 8 X 10. Have them decorate it with crayons or markers, etc. You can laminate them to make them sturdier. Add a wide bar of stick-on magnet at the top and bottom. Now each child can make a work of art to include with their frame. Place the artwork behind the frame and the magnets will hold both pieces to the fridge. Parents can use the frame over and over with new pieces of art.
