Open Court
By Amanda K

Clip to ScrapBook
I, too, taught Open Court this year, and I loved it. I was so impressed with the reading levels of my students this year... even my low ones showed tremendous progress. The word-attack skills they gained were outstanding. It was a bit difficult to get used to, but after a couple of weeks, I was in love with it. And it's true that you don't have to do everything. You can pick and choose activities to do... but I don't suggest skipping the phonemic awareness. It's the heart of the program in the early days of the year.
