I do not mean to be
Jay, I've taught middle school, high school and elementary (primary and intermediate.) THere is no comparison. How many kids did you have each day? I only have 15. I could go on and on about the differences. THe bottom line is the folks responding don't have a clue what your experience has been like. You have my understanding and sympathy. I hope you get another chance that is reasonable. The research literature says that first year teachers should be given the better classes, not the worst and that they should not have to carry as many periods has the more experienced teachers. However, in the real world unions protect the "experienced teachers" who refuse to take the hard classes. People pay a lot of lip-service to caring about kids, but in reality, well, Jay who knows better about reality than you?
