Science texts
By Joanne Campbell

Clip to ScrapBook
I also teach in Ontario (Woodstock) in French Immersion but I use the same program the English schools in my board use. McGraw Hill Ryerson is the publisher and the program is fantastic. It's called Science & Technology 1
(and 2 for grade 2).I tried looking on the web but if you have a cataglogue in school I think you may have more luck. The program covers the Ontario expectations. In Grades 1 and 2, each strand has a unit and small 16 page booklets to go with the unit. It is well laid out and very easy to follow. For the strand of matter and materials, the unit is all about shoes. What a great way to teach
young children about material. There are lots of quick tips and ideas across the curriculum. Try giving them a call and ask for a sample. They also have a Social Studies program. Our board uses a different one in English but I liked the translated program and the other one was not offered in French so we went ahead with it and I am just as pleased. Lots of great ideas and projects. Good luck. Where are you from in Ontario?
Joanne
