Clip to ScrapBook
Each child in my classroom has their own mailbox that they hand all of their homework in. This allows me to check before they go home to see what they need to have in their bag for homework. Of course, not every child needs
me to check to see what homework goes home. In the morning it takes about 10 minutes to go through and check to make sure that each child has their work. I have tried to have them hand it in to a math or reading box, but that just didn't work because I felt I had to go through so many boxes just to see if they had their work in. I also circle their homework in their student planner
each night (especially those who have homework problems). I then let the parents know to be expecting the planner each night. I sign before the child leaves for the night and the child can not have recess unless their planner is signed. Once the homework habit is established between the parent and child there are a lot less late and unfinished papers.
