Center Ideas
By marie

Clip to ScrapBook
Our 4th grade classes do centers every Friday afternoon for an hour, with parent helpers. (They do a different activity each Friday, so the 4 centers change about once a month.) One center is always Marcy Cook tiles. Another center is math activities: tangrams, pattern blocks, pentominoes, etc. One center is always an art project: symmetry faces, tessellations, etc. The 4th center is usually an activity to go with science or social studies. Students who need to finish their assignments work with the teacher to get caught up before they go to their assigned center. Our centers have worked so well that we have more ideas than time to do them all!
