b board to start the year

I also teach 4th grade. I am planning on having my current students help me prepare the board for my new students. I have cut out and colored a man and a woman chef. I am going to cover the board with a red and white checked tablecloth and put the chefs on both sides of the board. The title I'm using will be "A Recipe for a Successful Year." I am going to give each student a recipe card and have them create a recipe for succeeding in fourth grade. I will mount these under the title, between the two chefs. When the board is done, I'm going to cover it with a sheet so the colors don't fade this summer. This will be one less thing on my to do list for August.
