Yelling at the Kids (And Me Too!!!!!!!!!!!) By Carol

I agree totally. Who is she to yell at your kids and yell at Kindergarteners like that nonetheless!!! I have had the experience of regular school teachers coming in and reprimanding my class when I am subbing. I really| don't like it because they look at you as if you are incompetent. Some do it in a nice way, as Ken said, because they know the class is taking advantage of the sub situation and are trying to help. Others are just downright nasty. I have even a better one-I had a sub yelling at my class yesterday. We had a Library period together and the Library teacher was also a sub. The kids were | | really having a field day with having 3 subs at once. Well, this one particular sub had the top class and they were all sitting perfectly quiet. I had the bottom class and a few problem children in my class, but the situation was pretty much controlled (or so I thought). I am not the type to yell at the students for every wrong move that they make (I pick my battles), but apparently she was because she yelled at them consistently and asked me to leave because they were getting her class rowdy. The Library sub was apparently new to all of this so did not have much input. So, as a good sub should do (LOL) I held back my tongue, quietly got my class up and took them back into the classroom where we did a shared reading instead. Later on I was going to say something to her, but I figured why waste my time. Oh the joys of subbing!!!
