Language Arts Scheduling
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Sharon,
When I taught 1/2 multi age, my Language Arts was one block. I started with an interactive read aloud, mini lesson then the kids did 'I Cares' and 'Choices', which were both reading and writing. In 3/4 multi age, I've broken up the Reading and Writing into two separate blocks so I start with an interactive read aloud, mini lesson in reading then small groups or individual stuff for reading; another minilesson in writing then small groups or individual stuff for writing. During reader's workshop, the tasks are read, or write about your reading. During writer's workshop, the kids are adding to their writer's notebook or writing. The content areas are intergrated into this time, so the blocks are LONG. Hope this helps. ;-D
