you did a good job

Clip to ScrapBook
This is my 2nd year teaching first grade, and I too had a hard time with my students this year. I was constantly comparing them to last year's students, who were academically on a higher level, and half way through the year,
I realized I was driving myself crazy. Each year is different. Next year, you may get a group of students who are more advanced..its the luck of the draw. But you can find good in every group of students. That's the lesson I learned this year! I agree with what Kathy said about giving some of those students the "gift of time" with another year in first grade. I have two students
that are just not ready, and they need more time to mature. If you are really concerned about these students, talk to the parents, its worth a try. Enjoy your summer, and next year, it will be easier, trust me.
