sympathize with you

"Ahhh, someone just talk to me..." I understand your problem, even though I attended a four-year education program.

My husband worked in industry full-time and went to school at night to get his teaching certificate.
It took him years to do it. He received his Pennsylvania teaching certificate, and we moved to North Carolina. Big mistake! Once we got down here and he began to work for Charlotte, he was told by Charlotte, the state of North Carolina, and UNC that he had to take MORE college courses if he wanted to be certified in North Carolina. And that was after receiving a PA certificate from
a fully accredited state university in Pennsylvania! Boy was he upset!! He had to pay out-of-state tuition at our expense ($$$$$) to attend the university because we hadn't lived in North Carolina for a year yet. He had to take these courses, according to the university, because he hadn't taught and hadn't received experience in Pennsylvania. If we had known this, we might not have come down here until he did, because all North Carolina was willing to give him was a "lateral entry" certificate until he took those additional courses. He had a couple of years to fulfill the requirements.

Well, if it's any consolation to you, he has finished those courses and those days of attending school during the evenings and summers is over. I know that this is another nasty hurdle that you will have to jump over and I am sorry to hear that you have to go through this.
