No recess
By Crystal

Clip to ScrapBook
Last year, when we had to stop taking away recesses in the middle of the year, I definitely saw a back slide. Students knew for half a year what the consequence was. When our superintendent said we couldn't do this anymore, he also said we had to send home a note explaining that this consequence would no longer be available, our students thought they were getting away with something good. The first couple of weeks, we had a lot of students who started slacking off.

The funny thing was that I had a lot of parents complain, that we wouldn't be doing that. Some parents really agreed with the consequence.

This year, now that we are using the work table, I think the consequence is still there. It seems to be working fine.
