Tea for parents
By Aggie

Clip to ScrapBook
We have had a lovely afternoon luncheon three years running. The kids do some cooking, as do those parents who have not volunteered through the year (like a pot-luck kind of thing), and we invite all the parents along to
have lunch at the school. The kids decorate the long lunch tables with white paper cloths that they have coloured and the parent volunteers are the guests of honour. We hold luncheon for a couple of hours in the afternoon, and all the parents drift in and out, eat with their kids, thank the parent helpers and chat. It's always a lovely afternoon, and everyone really enjoys it. Our student
musicians provide background music and our PTA provides flowers for the volunteers to take home. It is very little work for the teachers and it gives the working parents a chance to do something nice for the ones who are always coming in to help. The kids are always excited as well, since their moms and dads come to eat with them and thank "Mrs. So-and-So" who reads to them every day. It's nice!
