I don't have a problem with someone getting their personal items. I know all teachers spend a lot of their own money in the classroom. Yes this person is still in the school district and in the same building. The reason| I have had a problem with it is because I have had to purchase a lot of things because there were no items in the class. For example there was no tape recorder for a listening center, we had a lot of books on tape and I had a lot of my own books on tape. I purchased 4 walkmans and a CD/tape player, there were no calculators for checking math, I purchased 5 of them. I only had 6 glue | | sticks for the year. This person got all the supplies sent to her room because she was starting a new classroom so in a way we were both short changed. I guess that was considered her budget, I don't know why they did not give me a budget. Fortunately I have people from other districts who have generously donated supplies, the things she has asked for are supplies. I do have a problem giving her things when I don't have any or have had to purchase a lot. It does get old. I guess in a way we have had to share supplies, I will tolerate it for this year but after this year (which will not be long) I will not give in to this. I will try to keep an open mind and understand that we were both short changed and try to bring it to the principal's attention to prevent this from happening to someone else in the future. Thank you again.
