you could also have the students fill in a bar graph with the frequency of each color in the bag. They could do it individually or in pairs, and then share with the class to see if everyone had similar results. They could also answer questions like "how many more blue did you have than red?" (subtraction) and "which color would you be most likely to pick out if you weren't looking?" (probability)
