I have taught for 16 years and my salary will be about 33,000 next year. I teach in rural MT and feel that the pay is very low for the amount of time I give outside of the classroom not to mention all of the supplies I purchase on my own. I love my job and do not have to support my family on my income alone so it works for me but teachers pay is not in line with other professions. I am concerned about drawing good teachers into the field!
