Fiction choices might include:
Commander Toad and the Space Pirates by Jane Yolen (this is part of a series)
Space Brat (series) by Bruce Coville

Nonfiction could be:
Don't Know Much About Space by Kenneth C. Davis
The Magic School Bus Lost in the Solar System

There are so many good books in this area. I'd suggest you just visit your school or local library and check their shelves. You'll find more than you can use, I'd bet!
