But anyways, I've recently tried to improve my attitude about the last days by doing some creative projects with the kids. I've been doing things I wouldn't have done during the year, and heck, who cares if the admin doesn't like it? Try something you've always wanted to do! Or do some quiet, time consuming fun stuff (crafts, coloring, book-making). I'm trying to remind myself, too, that I would like the kids to remember me as a loving and good teacher, so even if I'm sick to death of saying "sit down" and "be quiet" a hundred times a day I'm keeping my cool. I've stopped trying to actually teach for every minute of my one-hour classes (I'm an ESL teacher and have 8 classes) and started taking time to listen to the kids' stories and to chat with them a bit. In other words, I'm trying to relax and enjoy my final days with these students and to leave a positive impression. I hope some of my babbling has been helpful. You probably won't stop counting the days and the end will eventually come, but a few pleasant days at the end of an unpleasant job would definitely be welcome. Good luck finding a position for next year!
