I teach 7th grade Social Studies and have taught 6th and 8th. At the end of the year I like to do mini-debates. I propose a series of questions and assign the pro and con to different groups. (I usually use 3 different topics and so have 6 groups) They get a day or so to prepare their responses.The kids love this activity. Possibilities include school uniforms, 12 months of school, school praayer, etc. I do not handle anything too serious!! Jo
