Most of the teachers loved this type of system, and for my own purposes, I liked it too. However, in my opinion this type of system is not good for the kids and actually contributes to the lower test scores for kids in this urban district. Some people seem to think year round school means the kids will be in school more often, but that is not always the case. The kids in our district had more long breaks, and we all know how much kids usually forget over a traditional summer break. To make up the time during the year, our days were seventeen minutes longer (I think) than a traditional day. Big whoop.
