What time of day do the rules not apply???
By Jackie

Clip to ScrapBook
Wait till you have two administrators in the same office give you the different information....that's no help to you, though.

I would find the first teacher, and share your letter with "her" (him??) Chances are, they have
faced the same frustration.

Even ask the office what your options are, going in, just so that you will know in advance. As for the last fifteen minutes of the day? Who are they kidding? YOU are right. I HAVE told students (in middle and high schools) that I can escort them to the office on MY way out the door! It is not a problem for me! I had three boys give me that line, I

sent them to the office, and they took off out of the building instead! The attendance/discipline officer knew of it before I did! I went in on Monday morning, and filled out all new paperwork before I went to my "regular job" (not a shcool). They hadn't counted on that. He nailed them good.

Sounds like a number of them were just having a bad day, and didn't bother to not take it out on a "guest"! I would think about telling the second teacher, that you now realize that she may have been having a bad day, since she's with them all the time, and didn't realize how hostile her comments seemed. I call it, "I forgive you for being a jerk--even if you don't have the sense to know you are being one" Works wonders for me, and occasionally for them.---I used it on a boss, once, in a store I worked in. It became a real connection between us. And if they don't appreciate it, what have you lost? You wouldn't want to sub for her, now, would you?
