I have a favorite phrase that I use, in my head of course,"I have you child for one year , but you will have this child for the rest of your life"
It helps me focus on what is my job, and that is to help the student along. If this mother thinks the daughter is so smart, and I hope she is,she will expect her to read at the end of grade one. However, if the child is not ready to engage in readind then the mom will once again blame the teacher.HOW SAD!!
You have done an excellent job!!!
