Knowing that you can't solve all the underlying problems on your own (cut-off dates, complaining parents), our administrator has always told us to stand firm on what you believe. Don't give an inch. It may be hard, especially when this parent is complaining about your teaching skills, to deal maturely with this. Just make sure that you decide that you will absolutely hold to what you believe is important and what you are allowed to stand firm on.
