Hi Sandra,
Great question, it will be interesting to hear what others value...one of mine is our daily class meeting. We all sit in a circle on the floor and discuss celebrations, questions, new learning and concerns. At the beginning of the year, most of the focus is on establishing and maintaining the academic and behavioral expectations set forth by the students. By this time of year, the kids are celebrating a new book they read, sharing their sportsmanship efforts during intramurals, telling about an obstacle they've overcome as a writer...etc. I've used class meetings with Kinders thru 6th grade. Best of luck next year! ;-D
