getting rough
By Ruth

Clip to ScrapBook
I have used an end of the day recess as a reward when I taught higher grades (now in pre-K) but I did not call it a reward as such. I told them that we had XYZ to accomplish and if we completed it we would go out. If not, we would stay in and work on it til we finished or it was time to go home. It worked wonders. Peer pressure ("Hush and let us get this done so we can go out!") did help a lot!
