Varying grade levels
By Kathy

Clip to ScrapBook
I agree with the post above. I believe that different teachers have grade levels that are better suited to them. I remember when I was teaching first grade, the eighth grade teacher (who was also a "rookie teacher" like
I was)came down and helped with the lower grade recess duty. She almost went insane with all the little children coming up with their microscopic bumps and scrapes. It just drove her wild!

I--on the other hand--was working with the upper grade students on the newsletter. The first time I went in and they just sat there looking bored as I was explaining things I thought, "Where are

my eager little beavers who will do anything for a sticker?"

Each grade has its own rewards and challenges!

P.S: And there are a few special teachers that seem to thrive with this age group. The 7-8 grade teacher at our school absolutely adores her class. The amazing thing to me is the way they swarm about her like bees to honey. To be able to connect with that age group in that way is a definite gift!
