sunflowers
By Dru

Clip to ScrapBook
these are very easy plants to grow; i've had success from second and third generations of seeds. all you need is soil, a container, and this seasons seeds. water the soil completely at planting then keep the soil moist, not soaking. place the "pots" - i've use everything from cafe.-sized milk cartons to plastic cups- on a sunny window sill, or outside in a protected, but sunny area- we use our courtyard in the center of the school here. a seedling should pop up in 5-7 days. i've had fourth graders keep a journal documenting growth by measuring and illustrating observations. have fun!
