"staff" get togethers...

MKay, I understand what you're saying about not wanting to be a part of the staff at a school. I personally like not having the responsibilities of a full-time career teacher. Although I can't speak for others responding on this thread, I am saying I do feel like part of the teaching team - especially in the school where I sub often. I feel a kind of "kinship" with the classroom teachers I sub for. Maybe it's just my personality, but an invitation to a teacher social function at the end of the year (even if I could not attend) would indicate to me that I am accepted as a part of the team at that school. Like Carol noted earlier, it's always nice to be shown appreciation!
