This is my first year subbing, and I have felt a twinge on more than one occasion when teachers and support staff were planning parties for various occasions. I agree it would be so helpful for subs to be included in some things, as you mentioned, to offer opportunities for us to meet & mingle with teachers and administrators. Evidently, no one has thought of it anywhere I sub. Monday, May 6, begins Substitute Teacher Week so I plan to celebrate with the students I'm teaching and maybe take a baked treat to share with the staff. Think they'll get the hint?!
