Social Studies Review & Tigger Toss Spelling
By Andrea

Clip to ScrapBook
I knew I'd forget something! For SS I have an inflatable globe (easy to pack deflated). To review key terms/concepts after a lesson, I toss it to a student & fire off a quick question. If they get it right, they get to choose "the next victim--I mean student" to toss it to; if wrong, it comes back to me. This works well Gr. 2-6 & they don't seem to grumble over SS as much if they know they can play it. A variation of this is a small stuffed Tigger tossed around to review Spelling words before a test or practice word wall words & that's good from 1-6. They think they are getting away with something slyly peeking at the word wall but that's ok as the object is reinforcement.
