everyday math- GREAT!
By Janine

Clip to ScrapBook
Sorry to hear a few negative sides to the everyday math program. My school district has been using it for a few years, and we love it! Yes, it does require extra material, but it is all worth going the extra mile. The
whole idea with this program is to have the children explore and discover on their own, of course with guided direction on the part of the teacher, ways to solve problems. It is definitely a hands on approach which is a positive rather than the traditional paper and pencil type of work. The childrens math abilities have soared since e.m. was integrated into the district. When I tell
my kids that it's math time, they actually get excited and cheer. Many times, they will ask me, "when are we having math today," or "can we do math now?" It is remarkable how well the children adapt to this program.
