I think that it is fine to tell the class that you have had a bad day. I will tell my calss this and explain to them why I am upset with them and what kind of behavior I want them to show me. Children cannot improve their behavior if they do not understand what is and what is not acceptable.

It is also important to have them share with you how they feel about what happened.
