I just had my yearly, formal observation. At my school we had to be teaching language arts. My principal gave us a lesson plan sheet to fill out and asked us to copy our plans for the week. I agree with everything the last post said, and the bit of advice that was really helpful to me was to be very profesional. Type up your plans and turn them in early. Dress extra nice and think everything through-so you don't miss a thing. This includes, passing out papers, transitions, basically the organization and flow of the lesson. Somehow when you are in a really professsional state of mind, the lesson will show it. You'll do great!
