class management
By KT

Clip to ScrapBook
I would suggest you get a book called "Tools for Teaching" by Fred Jones or visit his website. Maybe you can catch one of his great workshops before he retires. I learned a great deal about class management in seminar I attended
recently and I have been teaching for over 25 years!! He is a clinical psychologist who has studied the relationship between students and teachers over many years. His book is VERY reader friendly and his advice is very common sense. He also has videos available on his site which may be of interest to your entire staff or available already in your district. The bottom line is to
establish procedures, practice them often and NO means NO! It is often interpreted through body language as well as what you say. It is explained well with many examples in his book. Of course, consistency is really important.
