When your previous position comes up in interviews, I would be candid, state why you were let go and then you should concentrate on what you have done to improve your classroom management skills...books you have read, conferences attended, ideas you implemented in the classroom before you left etc. I think recognizing you are not flawless is a strong character trait and then proving you know how to start addressing the problems only lends credibility to the fact that you a growing professional. I would hesitate placing blame on the principal or the students (although it may rightly lie there!!) just because it may look like you are not willing to own up to your weaknesses...and then do something about them. Classroom management is THE problem for most newer teachers, it will not shock your prospect employers you had troubles in this area I am sure! Good luck...aleesha
