I am also a first year teacher and am looking for a job. I was given my contract a couple of weeks ago but have not signed it. I have until July 15th. If I do not get a job I will still have a postition. If I do not make a decision before then I am responsible for paying for the search of my replacement. This means phone calls, reimburesment for travel and so on. It could be very expensive. I would really look into to this because you could get stuck with a pretty expensive bill.
