continent outlines

Have your students look at a large wall map showing the continents. Then give them colored paper and have then tear the edges to form the shape of each continent. Use a different color for each continent. When students are finished they will have their own set of continents to move around and finally glue to a background.

Someone may use this same procedure to tear a larger set for the teacher. That set can then be used for continental drift instruction or the beginnings of a bulletin board
