It's the same here!

Clip to ScrapBook
Yesterday after we came in from recess, I handed out test practice work for my kids to do while the kids got a drink of water. All of a sudden, I heard a girl whine that somebody scribbled all over her test practice booklet
I had just handed out. I looked at it, and it said "gay wad." I investigated the matter and found out that several of the girls are at odds with with this girl. They all seem to want to gang up on her, in a matter of speaking. The mother of one of the girls who tried to gang up on this studnet came in to complain about the behavior to the principal. She told the principal that this
sort of thing has been happening a lot lately. She also complained that one of my boys has been calling the girls a nasty word beginning with B. She also mentioned the names of two boys who are bothering her daughter.

One of the problems is that I teach fifth grade, and I have more girls than boys. The girls in my room are becoming so catty and nasty to each other. I think that the approaching end of the school year is a problem. I also think that as the heat cranks up, so do the tempers. (It was hot here today, too.) My kids are also flat-out tired of doing test-prep. I can see the impatience and energy levels rise.

In addition, this week I also had a rash of theft. We had a book fair, and one of my students bought an $8 coin collection case. Somebody stole it. While our guidance counselor was teaching my students today, somebody stole a student's lunch money. My principal came into speak with the kids, but nothing has been resolved.

I am going through what you are going through, and I agree that it's crazy. I am exhausted and stressed out. I wish I did have some great suggestions for you, but I came here to vent as well.
