I know what you mean bev

Clip to ScrapBook
Bev,

I do think I understand what you are trying to say. I don't eat with my fellow teachers in the lunch room. When you have a respected position, you need to earn that respect. ( I don't buy the attitude of hey, priests
molest children and our former president had oral sex in his office as an excuse to behave unprofessionally.) Venting about the difficulties of the job is one thing and I certainly do that. However, the teachers in my building made fun of children, made racist remarks, belittled new teachers, and expressed their hate for children on a daily basis. Two were very honest in their reason
for taking the job, to have summer's off. If you don't like what's going on, form a new lunch group that meets in your classroom with other teachers. I did that and it worked out great. We talked about problems and how to solve them. Teachers are human, some are horrid and some good.
