Switching Grades
By Renee

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi, Myra.

To answer your question, yes, I have taught both sixth and eighth grade. Unfortunately, I can't honestly tell you the behavior is any better in eighth grade than sixth. Regardless of the grade, you must make your expectations and consequences clear. That can be tough, especially if you don't have support from your administration. Remember...BE CONSISTENT!

Are we talking about a junior high situation? What specific behaviors are you having a hard time with? A little more information would help me give you better advice.

In general, you will see the same behaviors in eighth grade as you saw in sixth grade only amplified by two years!

Good luck in your decision.
