Hey "So True"
By Sarah

Clip to ScrapBook
"It's usually either the new holier-than-thou teachers or the older busybody teachers. Other people are devoting time to educating children, not judging others."

I don't know how long you've been teaching but i have some
questions that i hope you can answer.
Am I automatically a "holier-than-thou" who is too busy juding others to educate children as a new teacher? I was wondering if you mean specific types in the new teacher crop, or if you see the entire fresh face on teaching in a negative light. I would be interested to know what sort of behaviors are viewed as acceptable, and which unacceptable
in new teachers by senior staff. I ask because new teachers, at least in my opinion, are likely to be the ones that feel they are being judged, rather than the ones to do alot of the judging. Just curious what a new teacher has to do to earn your individual respect. I have heard your first year is difficult, and i am curious to see how much room for error is provided by older teachers who ideally would give us advice and guidance as new teachers. (yes, i am aware that you can't speak for experienced teachers everywhere, but still...)
