Bev, maybe you struck a nerve because you have not actually become a full time teacher. You are 20 and have not actually been a full time teacher. You are still on the student prespective and maybe you are insecure about
the way teachers might still be observing you! Actually teachers aren't as mean as you think! No offense, but come off your high horse! Kids will manipulate you because they are more sophisticated than you think! Of course don't swear in front of them, or be perverted, but don't think they have an invisible camera following you! Wait until you teach a full year, by yourself with

no support of a college textbook. Those textbooks are great to get you motivated but they do little help in the real world. And some day you will apprecitate the shoulder you cry on. And it doesn't mean you are a bad teacher. It means you are human and sometimes what you give out isn't what you get back. Wish you the best fellow human.
