I teach fourth grade and I saw this idea in a magazine. Make a matte with 12 squares around the outside, maybe like 4 across, 3 down. Each square represents a different month, so they decorate each accordingly. Maybe for september an apple, oct a pumpkin etc. The xerox calendars for each of the months for the next year and put those in the middle. The moms can tear off each month as they go.
