Hi, I'm a kid-loving 44 year old pre-service teacher. I've had the privilege of teaching math in a one-room private school, and I share your concern with the public school system. I started my education at a private school with very high standards, and its those first 2 years of school that have carried me this far. My aim in getting a teaching certificate is to give my students what I got, and if the public school system won't let me demand excellence and high achievement from students, then I too will be starting a private school or working in one.
