Plants
By Aleesha

Clip to ScrapBook
I have always had luck with bean seeds...they start growing rather quickly and they grow quite tall so I tie this into measurement...the kids have plant journals and they do weekly measure, record and draw entries to chart their seed's growth. I have a one-two split so this next idea might be a tad young for grade threes...but we plant the seeds in 250 or 500 ml milk cartons and I have a castle cut out that the kids color and glue around their container (well they color and glue the castle, then plant. We start the unit reading Jack and the Beanstalk...then in a week or so they all have their own beanstalk growing out of a giant's castle.
