    It's very common for students to request a visit to the nurse, especially when their teacher is absent. For some, it is testing you, for others, especially the younger ones, they miss the "security" of their daily routine with their own teacher, so a visit to the nurse for some tlc gives them a bit of stability. Since you don't know the students well, nor their case histories, you may want to continue to do what you did today. Erring on the side of caution protects you and I wouldn't worry if the nurse got upset. I would be more worried about not sending a child to the nurse and finding out later that his stomach pains were severe and needed attention. I think you are doing the right thing.
