Sponges
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
After you get them clean with bleach water, you can also soak them in rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide for at least 15 minutes, squeeze out, and put on a rack to dry. (Or put up a clothes line and hang them there to dry.) You can do the same thing with bleach water. Bleach will be the cheapest way to keep the sponges clean.

It wouldn't hurt the sponges to be put into a mild bleach water solution in a dishpan or bucket on Friday afternoon and left soaking all weekend. Monday morning they'll be fresh, disinfected, and ready to go. If you soak them every 2 or 3 days, you won't ever have "stinky sponge syndrome" again.
