community song and dance
By Heather

Clip to ScrapBook
You could do something with dance...like teach the community about the sounds/movement/art of where you live, by some sort of interpretive dancing and singing. You could make up a song about the "neighborhood" or "community"
and put it to music..maybe like a song already done, and just change the lyrics. You could incorporate a dance to the song, for example, you could "sway like the maple trees", "deliver letters like the mailman", "fly like the bluebird", "smile like the librarians" etc. all in the dance. Everything you sing about will be related to where you live, and therefore they must learn about
the community before doing this, write lyrics to a song, or change lyrics to a song, and dance. You could perform this "town song" for your community. Hope this helps! =)
