Stick with third!
By Kathy

Clip to ScrapBook
I've never taught Kindergarten, but I have taught both first and third. I would say, in light of the fact that you have toddlers at home, you should NOT be teaching Kindergarten. I think it's much better to be teaching
older children when you have little ones at home.

I loved first (and am sure I would have loved K, too), but many a time I thought, "I am SO glad I don't have little ones at home." First graders--sweet as they are--can be quite dependent. The older ones can do things more on their own. I think for this time in your life that is where you need to be.

Also, I would agree with the

above post. You are losing your enthusiasm--not because of grade level, but because of the many discipline problems which are very draining. I think you need to let your principal know--perhaps you could get your colleagues to back you up since they agree that your classroom has become a "dumping ground."
